When your business is established in a variety of locations with a unique listing for each, generating reviews through a single landing page may not provide you with the data you need. Grade.us resolves this issue by giving you the ability to generate, monitor, market, and report on the reviews for each individual location through what is known as a Mutli-Location Business. You may have different managers in charge of the reputation for each location and an executive team that wants a company-wide view of review performance. This feature gives you the ability to see how each location is doing on its own, but will also give you an overall rating for the entire chain.
Grade.us allows you to create Multi-Location Profiles to manage your reviews under one Parent Profile. Each Child Profile comes with its own set of Grade.us features, allowing for review management at a company wide and individual location level.

What is a Multi-Location Business?
A Multi-Location profile gives you the ability to create a set of review management profiles that mirror the organizational structure of a multi-location business. When you convert a single-location profile to a Multi-Location profile, a Parent Profile is created that provides an aggregated view of all child profiles (reporting, review funnel with the ability to choose the visited location, etc.)
Easily set up location specific child profiles that come with all of the essential review management features necessary to grow your company's reputation. Provide store managers with permissions limited to only their location. Have them send out review generation campaigns to customers for their specific store. Monitor and respond to their store's reviews. Create reports at a location level to evaluate their own performance. At the parent profile level, executives can generate reports that show review performance across all locations.
Reasons you may want to create a Multi-Location Profile include:
- You manage a franchise and offer profiles for each of your locations.
- Your business has multiple practitioners, eg: Doctors Office, Dentist, Salon, Real-estate.
Setting Up a Multi-Location Profile
Before you can start setting up a Multi-Location profile, you have to have added a business to your Grade.us account. Once a business has been created, complete the following:
1. Select the business profile you would like to convert to a Multi-Location Profile.
- In the upper left of your screen, select the title of the box with the magnifying glass.
- Select a business profile from the dropdown.
2. Navigate to Dashboard > Funnel > Links.
3. Under Business Location Info select "Convert to Multi-Location."
4. An Attention! window will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Select "Confirm."
- If you are unsure if you want to convert your profile, you can select "Cancel" to be returned to your Dashboard.
Once you have selected "Confirm" you will be directed to the Parent Profile of your Multi-Location Dashboard where you can start adding profiles to your new Funnel/ Landing Page. The profile you converted is the first "child profile" on the list.
Adding Profiles
The main feature of a Multi-Location profile is that you are able to stack additional businesses under one Parent Profile. To add more "Child Profiles" to this top profile perform the following:
1. Select the Parent Profile you want to add a child profile to.
- In the upper left of your screen, select the title of the box with the magnifying glass.
- Select the Parent Profile from the dropdown.
- The Parent Profile will be blue and the child profiles will appear as black.
- The Parent Profile will be blue and the child profiles will appear as black.
2. Navigate to Dashboard > Funnel > Links.
3. Under "Review Profiles" select the "+Add a Profile" button.
4. In the new window that appears fill out:
- Page Title: Name of the Child Profile / Business Profile you are creating.
- Shortame: the shortname will become the webpage address (www.grade.us/exampleshortname) of your review funnel landing page.
- Internal ID: an ID that can be assigned to the profile for internal (not Grade.Us) tagging purposes.
- Language: English, Spanish, French, German, Danish, Dutch, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian.
- Copy content from another page?: This option will allow you to copy over the text and format of an existing profile to your new profile.
5. Select "Submit."
Bulk Add Locations
If you are dealing with a large number of locations, adding each one manually can be time consuming. As a result, Grade.us has provided an option to upload the locations in bulk through a CSV/XLSX file.
FYI:
If you need help creating a CSV/XLSX file, you can find additional information for creating one here.
To add locations in bulk through a CSV/XLSX file, perform the following:
3. Under "Review Profiles" select the "Upload CSV/XLSX" link.
4. In the new window that appears select "Upload Csv Xlsx" and browse to your file location.
- There are two additional check boxes here that you can fill out based on your preference:
- Auto-find location listing from business name, postal code, and phone?: this option runs the "Connect Location" process for each uploaded business location.
- Upload specific links for profiles from file?: this option allows you to include links to your site listings in your CSV/XLSX file.
Danger:
The CSV or XLSX file you select will need to include the following information in order to be uploaded correctly:
- Shortname
- Profile Name
- Internal ID
If your headers do not match our guidelines, you will be prompted to match them after uploading the file.
5. Organize Columns.
- Move the options from the "Columns from file" column to the "Expected for upload" column.
6. Select "Continue to Upload."
Parent Profiles
Multi-location profiles aren't simply tools for easy grouping and organization. The top-level profile, or "Parent Profile," gives you a few features that make it easier to handle customers and data in aggregate:
- Reports generated on the Parent Profile can cover all locations in aggregate and individually.
- The Parent Profile's email campaign will send customers to the Parent landing page.
- Recipient lists uploaded to the Parent Profile can be auto-sorted by location.
- The Parent Profile's Reviews tab displays review and customer feedback data in aggregate.
- The Parent Profile review stream widget will display reviews from all locations.
- The Parent Profile landing page widget will show the Parent Profile landing page.
- The ability to receive notifications from all Child Profiles in the "Notifications" area.
Editing Profiles
After you have submitted your new Profile you will be able to edit it just like a normal business profile.
Editing Parent Profiles
Within the Parent Profile you now have access to a new group of settings. Instructions for the information that can be adjusted can be found here: Funnel.
Additional information can be found under the Links tab. This is the place where where you manage all of your different child profiles. You can add, re-order, edit, show/hide, and delete them.
You can also select what multi-location landing page layout you'd like to use from the Index Page type dropdown menu.
A few elements haven't changed in the Links tab: you can still setup your notifications and social media buttons.
Caution:
Notifications recipients on the Parent Profile will receive notifications for all locations in the multi-location profile.
The Content tab will have fewer options than on single-location profiles. You can edit the Message to all visitors and Attach an offer to the Parent Profile only.
The Setup tab is identical to that on a single-location profile, but changes made here will apply to all locations. For example, if you change to the Stars layout or add Custom CSS, they will be applied to all locations underneath in addition to the top-level profile.
Editing Child Profiles
One difference between a normal, single location profile, and the Multi-Location profile; the single profile has a links, content, and setup tabs, while the child profile of a multi-location profile will have a links, content, and This Profile tab.
Under the Links tab to edit any individual location's profile (these profiles function nearly identically to a single-location landing page), simply click the Pencil () icon next to its entry in Dashboard > Funnel > Links or select it from the profile selector menu in the top-left corner of the dashboard. The dashboard will change slightly upon loading but it functions nearly identically to the dashboard for a single-location profile.
Under the Content tab, you'll be able to fully customize the landing page text and content for the active location as you would any single-location profile. The changes made here will only apply to the active location unless you select Copy above to all sibling profiles? before saving your changes, which will apply the changes to all location profiles except the top-level profile.
The "This Profile" tab will allow you to adjust the following settings:
- Page Title
- shortname
- Internal ID (optional)
- Language
- Page Image
- Override logo on page?
URL Structure
Multi-location profiles have a slightly different and longer URL structure than single location pages. The shortname you choose for the top-level profile will appear immediately after your domain, e.g.
yoururlhere.com/chainstore
Each individual location's shortname will be added to end of the above url, e.g.
yoururlhere.com/chainstore/atlanta

Congratulations! You have successfully grouped your businesses.
