We have simplified our “Add a Business” flow to reduce friction, especially for new users. The largest change is that we have combined Adding a Business, Connecting a Location, and Adding Listings into a single, three-step process. Let's walk through each step to confirm everything that is changing.
Welcome Page (new users only)
We will welcome new users and explain why adding their business is the first step to happy customers leaving you reviews.
Step 1 of 3: Adding a New Business Name
What is the same:
The three questions/options on this page will look very familiar.
- Business Name
- Copy from Existing (Learn more about copy from existing)
What is different:
We no longer ask for these technical options within the "Add a Business" flow:
- URL Shortname (this is now generated for you)
- Internal ID
However, we are not removing these options/functionality or the ability to customize them.
They will simply now exist in the funnel under the setup tab.
⇵ Logic Change
Once the name is submitted, instead of asking new users to intuitively know to click on Add a Business, we now automatically direct everyone to the map to find their listings. This ensures everything is set up correctly and makes the process one less step for everyone.
Step 2 of 3: Finding your Business Location
There will be no changes to the functionality of this section, but we have simplified the look and feel of the map, business not found, and service-area business modals.
Step 3 of 3: Listings
This will function the same as before, once your location is selected, we will find your other listings.
Beyond simplifying the look and feel there will be no changes to how this process functions.
After your listings are set up, you will be directed to the funnel to start gathering reviews.
